Update: Crochet Braids with Marley Hair

I think the hair was $6 or $8

The stylist put these on the hair. It looked nice, but the next day I found several white flakes. 

Now imagine this lighter color all over my head! hot mess!!!

If you are in the Fort Riley, KS area or attend Kansas State University, definitely check out Attention Please Hair Salon.

The lady who did my hair was NOT heavy handed, she listened to me, and was able to handle my being High Maintenance because she was natural herself, she didn't give me the side eye when I kept spritzing my hair/scalp with water and had a wide tooth comb.

I was charged $90 to get my hair done.

I tipped $10. 

I paid $6 for the hair. I used 2 packs.

It took less than 4 hours. 

The lady braided my hair in a circle with Kanekalon hair.

Color: M1B/33

-- The color in the pack looks dark...but in really good lighting, its a lighter brown with golden lights. Next time I'm getting 1B

This is the second day of wearing the hair. I've already slept on it.. The hair grows ya'll .. and don't let the wind touch it cuz than its ov-ah haha

Like, most women I'm all excited for the New Years look. The transformation from the old into the new. Most specifically my hair. As we all know black women are all about their hair; and while I'd like to front and say I could give a fig -------- not true.

So I was checking out the Coco&Creme article about finding the right bangs for your face shape. And I got so geeked. I've been wanting to wear bangs for a minute -- especially the bob. But I didn't know if I could pull it off. Honestly I'm not comfortable with wearing straight weaves -- it took me a while to get used to micros but I think according to the article I have a heart shaped face with some circle-ish tendencies?? lol So check out the article and see what your face shape is:

But back to me; These are some hair styles I'm interested in.. thoughts & suggestions??

Chopped & Screwed

MY hair is damaged so much from flat ironing it.. it is now permanently straight.. my choices are now
-keep the burnt hair and let it grow out..
-cut the hair off and start anew

The only issue is my concurrent case of alopecia (due to stress) and I just cant allow that to be seen ... so I'm prolly gonna keep my hair a...nd get some micros or kinky twists

I need to start taking better care of my hair & body: i recently bought some coconut milk, coconut oil, EVOO, peppermint oil, and some ACV (I bought the wrong kind of of ACV, I need to get the unfilitered sort).

My alopecia patch is slowly growing in but its still worrying me. Im trying not to let anything stress me .. BUT its oh so hard. grrr

I'ma wear my hair in two-strand twists as a constant protective style until I get micros or my A.patch grows in.

My hair damaged began when I first got my hair hot combed back in June or July 2009.




I'm just now noticing that I had lost my original curl pattern back in 2009.

My current hair looks nothing like that. It looks like Im transitioning from relaxed to natural.

I've never wore my hair in a "straight" way-cuz I always had locs.. So last year I wanted to experiment and to see how I looked.. your hair is still techincally natural because it reverts back to the original form..

My hair is currently anti-reversion because I was ignorant and let ppl do whatever to my hair.

Depressed.

How ya Like my Hair??

Hair, Hair, Hair pt 1

Ok, so if you may not know. I am natural. Have been natural since I was 4. Ive been loc'd up since I was 16. Than I made the transition to Sisterlocks till I was 20. Now I'm rocking the afro and wearing protective styles. My hair traditionally (in locs) grows past my shoulder/mid back. With Sisterlocks I didn't have them in long enough and I would keep my hair cropped to my chin. One time I did let my SL's grow near my shoulder before I cut them.

Now as a natural natural lady. I'm trying to get my hair back down my back. So far I've had no luck. I don't take good care of my hair, I usually have no interest or time in trying to figure out the best combs to buy or what ingredients are harmful to my hair and scalp. College Student here!

However, since I've become a blogger, I've been addicted to the natural hair blogs, I delve into the information and I decided to take a proactive approach to getting my long hair back.

I will be detailing my journey, extensively because I'm addicted to details. IDK what type of hair texture I have.. it's somewhat all over the place, I do know that its fine, can be brittle/dry, and I suck at moisturizing it, but I try not to manipulate it all the time.

So starting tomorrow I will be trying or making a deep conditioner out of

Banana's, Honey, Virgin Olive Oil, Skim Milk, and Water... hopefully this goes well. I won't use the mix until this weekend. I need to buy some conditioner.. I'm leaning towards Garnier because I like the way it feels on my hair. But I'm leaning towards buying some natural conditioners if the Garnier has negative ingredients.

Like I said earlier, I've been stalking natural hair blogs and two in particular that I view ALL the time are Mane & Chic and Black Girl With Long Hair. So for future reference for me and others that may decide to view my blog. Ima put some interesting links on here for reference.

So my ultimate goal for Spring/Summer.. get my hair in a good place where it is lush, healthy, moisturized, and getting some length.. before I go to Germany!

So I've been looking through so many blogs that are about natural hair and I'm actually impressed. I've been natural since I was 4 years old.

Traditional Locks were my lifestyle until my Junior year of Highschool.



Than I cut it all off! And restarted with Sisterlocks from junior year of high school till my second semester junior year of college






Than I cut it all off



Than I got micros... I was unweavable



Than I wore my hair regular



I even wore a wig for a day or three



Than I got Micros again



Now I'm back to the Afro



Oh and I'm officially a fan of threaded eyebrows
